My Praise shall be of Thee

“My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.  26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.”  (Psalms 22:25-26)

Psalm 22 is known as the Psalm of the cross as we read several prophetic statements the Messiah shall make as HE prays through Calvary. In this devotion, we shall focus on the phrase, “…they shall praise the LORD that seek him:”. The Messiah declares the silence of God the Father in verses 1-2.

“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? 2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.” (Psalm 22:1-2)

HE experienced loneliness, emptiness, aloneness in the great depths of HIS sufferings to accomplish the finished work of Salvation. HE was forsaken in the GREAT TRIAL OF THE CROSS, SO THAT, WE WOULD NEVER BE FORSAKEN BY THE FAITHER! These sufferings, of the Savior, are prophetically describer in verses 14-15.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.  15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.  (Psalms 22:14-15)

Listen to the cries of HIS heart as we see that which shall come upon the Lord Jesus Christ as He suffers the indignities of the Cross. “…they pierced my hands and my feet.” (v.16) “They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.” (v.18) Jesus has known the agony of being a steadfast and faithful seeker during times of great trial. HE endured the greatest of trials by becoming the sin-bearer for your sins and for mine. Therefore, we can KNOW because of HIS sufferings, HIS death, burial and resurrection, that we as SEEKERS shall also praise HIM and find the place of blessing. There is a place prepared for us in heaven where the saints of time shall gather with the angelic host and together around the throne of God before the crystal sea and we shall praise HIM in all of HIS glory, honor and majesty.

We shall behold HIM while wave after wave of love, joy, and peace wash over and through our souls as the heavens are filled with our praises. Jesus said: “…seek, and ye shall find;…” If you find yourself in the midst of a trial, darkness covers your sight, and pain fills your heart, seek HIM.

To seek God is to allow HIS WORD to capture your soul. We breathe HIS WORD into our heart and we contemplate the message of God. I am HIS son and HE is restoring the image of Jesus Christ to my life. The grace of God and the life of Christ shall be manifest through me by HIS grace for HIS glory. I speak the truth in my heart over and over again. I seek out the message of God for me in the Scriptures and I consider it. I expand upon it. I devour it. Even if, deliverance is not found in this trial during my days upon this earth, the promise of God is true.

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18) I will trust God to make clear these events of time THEN on the other side of time and THEN “My praise shall be of thee…” (v.25) I have a place secured around the throne of God and I shall lift my voice in praise to the GREAT THREE IN ONE! “…they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.”  This is our faith.
